Dooney Purses
Does the name Peter Dooney and Frederic Bourke ring a bell with you? If you are into fashion it should. They are the designers behind the company Dooney and Bourke (hence the name). The company started out in Connecticut back in 1975 and is known for their Dooney Wallets and Dooney Purses. Both the Dooney Wallets and the Dooney Purses are made with genuine leather and some are even crafted from crocodile. The Dooney collection including the Dooney Purses are also known for their bright colors. Back when the company first started up, the competitors in the industry all had the same plain natural colors, so Dooney wanted to set themselves apart by shaking things up a bit and using nontraditional colors which ended up being a huge success. Dooney and Bourke prices for their products are actually pretty reasonable. The lowest price starts at $20 dollars and the highest product is priced at $625 dollars. The average price for Dooney Purses is about $300 dollars, but when you compare it to other leading brands it’s really cheap. Other brands in the field charge sometimes thousands of dollars, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars and their materials and qualities are just as great as the type Dooney and Bourke produce. There are five different types of Dooney Purses at the moment. There is the Leather, Signature, Grafica, fabric and exclusives. Probably the most famous of all five Dooney Purses is the Signature look. The signature look has a large D printed behind a large B (those letters are printed all over the purse) along with the initials of the designers, they have the year the business was started all over the purse as well which was in 1975. The leather bags are amazingly sturdy and they are big enough to tote your lap top to work if you choose to, plus the leather Dooney Purse has classier look. The Grafica is a wild design for a Dooney Purse, but it is absolutely lovely. It has multiple different colors and basically has the appearance of a clutch, but with handles. The Fabric purses are just a nice fabric that doesn’t cost a lot. It is actually one of the cheaper purses Dooney and Burke produce, but nonetheless fabulous. The exclusives are a Dooney Purse that is just in season or hot right now and the majority of what is in tends to be over sized purses that allow room for a lap top in them. The reason most of the Dooney purses conveniently are made to hold lap tops is because Dooney and Bourke’s target market is the young classy American girl next door who works and multitasks throughout her days. You can tell by looking at the products and feeling them that they are made to last and very stylish. The company itself is so proud of their collection that they stand 100 percent behind their products. Every item Dooney and Bourke produce, they give it a one year warranty and on some particular items they actually give it a life time warranty. So you may invest $300 dollars for a Dooney Purse, but if it lasts a life time I believe it is well worth it.
Dooney Purse
You may be able to purchase and of the Dooney and Bourke collection both in retail stores (including outlet malls) and over the internet. However because the Dooney Purses have such a wonderful reputation in the fashion community, there is a huge demand for them. So just like any product, other companies took notice of this purse company and realized there was also a market for people who loved the styles Dooney and Bourke created yet simply could not afford. So competitors created a knock off brand to satisfy that large market which was a brilliant idea. However, innocent people like you seem to be getting ripped off more frequently. Some people will purchase a knock off Dooney and Bourke product and then upload a picture online at one of those auction web sites and then try to sell the product for the price of an authentic Dooney and Bourke product. So I guess what I am trying to convey to you is to be careful and research the product. Do not buy any products off line unless there is a picture for one and secondly compare the seller’s picture of the product they are trying to sell to the product that is on the Dooney and Bourke website. The things you need to watch out for that would be a dead giveaway is if the product is a fake or not is the stitching for one. The stitching in the fake ones seems to be loosely stitched. Then look at the logo (which is a duck) and also look at the brass hardware and compare them.
